Crocheted panels are an excellent alternative to ordinary wall paintings: they look more unusual than store-bought products, and anyone can create such a “masterpiece” with their own hands

The interior design of a room includes not only beautiful furniture, wallpaper and curtains. Small decorative elements are important. They help create a special atmosphere in your home. Today they are very common and considered stylish panels crocheted.

Do-it-yourself fillet panels are created by alternating empty and filled cells. It is thanks to this technique that a peculiar play of light and shadow is obtained. Fabrics made using the fillet knitting technique hold their shape well. Using this knitting method, you can create with your own hands not only tablecloths, napkins, bedspreads, curtains, dresses, but also beautiful decor items for the room, including New Year’s paintings for the wall. These can be panels of braids, flowers and simple patterns.

The knitting technique is accessible to everyone and there is nothing complicated about it. Even those who have never picked up knitting needles or a crochet hook will be able to make beautiful things.

Loin nets are made up of alternating double crochets and chain stitches. But there are also different variants combinations. The number of air loops can also be different. Typically, empty cells are indicated in diagrams; they correspond to empty cells of the pattern, and shaded cells correspond to filled cells of the pattern. Each knitting pattern has a description, so knitting is quite simple and easy. It is advisable to use cotton yarn or linen, viscose fibers for crocheting.

Wall panel “Birch”

To create such a panel you will need:

  • White, gray, light mustard, dark mustard, green yarn;
  • Hook;
  • A sheet of thick cardboard (the base on which the related product);
  • Linen fabric.

If you want to hang a “Birch” panel in the kitchen, then it is advisable to use as many green tones as possible: this color stimulates the appetite

The birch trunk is made in a single crochet stitch with yarn white. Branches - in chains of air loops black fibers. For birch earrings, light and dark mustard threads are used. Each earring consists of 21-23 chain stitches and a double crochet. Green threads are used to create leaves. After all the components of the panel are connected, they are sewn or glued to the fabric. Subsequently, it is stretched onto a cardboard sheet.

You can decorate the knitted panel around the perimeter with lace made from linen thread.

It is possible to knit oak in the same way; willow looks very beautiful.

Crochet paintings and panels: patterns

The main thing is to show maximum imagination and follow the scheme.

We knit a New Year's panel.

Will be needed:

  1. Red and white threads;
  2. Hook;
  3. Sheet of cardboard.

The panel consists of three squares - two depict a deer, the third a Christmas tree. Each square consists of 25 air loops made with white threads. The designs are crocheted with a double crochet. Be sure to tie each of the squares with red threads in 5 rows with a single crochet. The connected elements of the panel are connected to each other by a chain of air loops.

The fillet knitting technique is simple, even a child can learn it. Making a beautiful and original panel with a diagram at hand is not difficult and does not take long.

With your child, you can make large crocheted panels with images of animals or make a flower meadow. It is enough to knit 10-12 small flowers different shades, make a column of stems and glue all the elements onto colored fabric. The result will be a beautiful, bright panel.

In the same way, you can knit a snowman, a Christmas tree, draw a winter forest clearing, houses on paper and attach the knitted parts to the drawing. This will make an excellent knitted decorative element for New Year's Eve.

Panel of crocheted flowers

To create a crocheted panel with flowers on it, you will need thick light threads, a photo or picture frame, a hook, white, pink, green threads, and a needle.

Glass and cardboard are removed from the frame. The frame is tied with light thick threads, which are tied into knots. Then the ball of thread is threaded alternately down and up. This must be done until the threads fit tightly to each other. There will be an intersection in the middle part of the intertwined threads.

Flowers are made with five air loops, after which the column is connected into a ring. How many rows there will be in a flower depends on how big it is.

Knitted petals are attached to each other with threads. The flowers are subsequently attached with threads to the prepared panel.

Crochet Owl panel

Crocheted panels not only with patterns, but also with animals and birds look original and beautiful.

The "Owl Crochet" panel is created from several separate parts: the product itself can be decorated with beads or other decorations

To create a wall painting “Owl” you will need:

  • 200 g of white thread;
  • Hook;
  • Rings that are used to assemble curtains.

The ring is tied with single crochets, three rows are knitted according to the existing pattern. The second ring should be treated in a similar way. The first 12 double crochets are sewn together. The rest remain free. The first row of the owl's plumage is made of 4 chain stitches, and is knitted in forward and reverse directions. Next, the body of the bird is knitted, and two wings are finished, but separately. Ears are tied to the head, connected with single crochets.

The large ring is tightly tied with single crochets; the owl is attached to the frame by the tips of its wings, ears and the middle part of its body.

This crocheted panel can be used to decorate a hallway, children's room, or even a living room.

Knitted panel “Jug”

The jug is knitted using the fillet technique, which should result in a knitted mesh. Empty cells are knitted with single crochets and two chain stitches.

Crochet pattern is like this:

  • I row: 10 empty cells, filled;
  • Row II: 8 empty, 4 filled;
  • III row: 6 empty, 6 filled;
  • IV row: 4 empty, 8 filled.

The beginning of the row (first column) should be replaced with 3 air loops.

The jug is knitted with white threads; it is better to use cotton yarn. In order to make the panel brighter, the outline of the jug should be tied, for example, with red threads. You can decorate the product with flowers, leaves, beads, beads.

Examples of crocheted panels (photo)

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to paint an “oil painting”. Sounds very nice - oil painting! But somehow it didn’t work out, although maybe it was just not my time. However, on these frosty autumn evenings I really wanted bright colors, for example, on the wall in the living room or in my office corner. In my imagination, slowly but really, it was created pattern of knitted floral elements. Absolutely not winter's tale. On the contrary, spring is a positive picture with threads. But dreams, especially in the Internet era, can always be supported by something similar and already existing. So there were many examples for my inspiration. I would like to introduce you to two works in this direction.

Bouquet from Marken

Painting with threads of knitted flowers, masterfully made by TheHatandI - a needlewoman from Colorado, USA. The picture is like from my Dream - bright, tasty and very positive! Just threads and yarn, just buttons, just ribbons... and just the talent to create the Beautiful. Bravo, Marken! It's clear that the Fort Collins crafter is truly in love... with knitting. In the short lines of his handicraft biography, Marken wishes store visitors to find among the products presented something worthy of your hook and your time. Here’s hoping you will find one of my patterns worthy of your hook and your time. And here is the actual Thread Painting!

Picture by Rossanna Navarro

And another wonderful picture of crocheted flowers that I found on the Rossanna Navarro blog. The girl worked on the canvas for quite a long time due to some circumstances. But when the work was finished, she was absolutely happy. I am happy too when I look at this Beauty!

Good afternoon, dear readers!

Today I want to tell you what I’ve been doing for the last two months and offer you colored knitting, namely knitting a picture!

No, I haven’t knitted any patterns myself yet, but I knitted a pullover for my son.

Pattern with squares of yarn different colors was borrowed from a Japanese site. Pattern – facial surface. I didn’t need a knitting pattern here, I just calculated the number of loops in the squares.

Complexity simple knitting The only problem was that several skeins were used in one row at once. This color knitting technique is called.

Once upon a time I knitted pullovers and jackets from yarn not only for myself and for my family different color, but also of different textures (for example, cotton with mohair). Such models were taken from the CHIC album, which combines interesting design solutions by French and German fashion designers.

While I was knitting a pullover for my son, I was also engaged in blogging, of course, participated in the “Eating at Home” project, virtual magazines “” and “”, took and continue to take part in various competitions, visited many other sites and once saw a picture knitted with knitting needles.

Beautiful paintings are most often crocheted, made from threads, painted, of course.

And the paintings knitted, I didn't find much. Still, this is quite painstaking work.

But how beautiful it turns out! It is not very different even from a watercolor painting, and is not inferior to an embroidered painting.

Isn't embroidery a painstaking job?

Knitting a picture with knitting needles is not at all difficult, as it might seem right away.

The main thing is to choose the shades of yarn; you can try knitting from floss or acrylic threads.

Many different skeins are used in one row, so that they do not get confused with each other; after knitting part of the pattern with one color, I shift this skein from left to right. And at the beginning of knitting the next row, I shift all the skeins back from right to left alternately, strictly observing their sequence.

We connect threads of different colors to each other from the inside out by crossing them.

Having knitted a row, you need to mark it on the diagram with a pencil, so you won’t get lost and you will knit all the following rows strictly according to the pattern.

Today we will plunge into the truly amazing world of knitted items - these are crocheted portraits.

An amazing woman, an artist by training and a wonderful needlewoman. Knitted patterns Joe Hamilton amazes the eye and excites the imagination!

I am familiar with some of the basics of drawing, but I can’t imagine how to knit an entire portrait! And you?

Meet Joe Hamilton!

Joe is originally from Scotland. As I said, Joe is an artist by training. This played one of the most important roles in creativity. Her latest works are crocheted portraits.

When I first saw the portrait in the process of knitting, I did not understand that this picture was crocheted. Only after a closer look did it become clear what was going on here! 🙂

She can sit for hours and crochet huge paintings. These include landscapes and portraits of friends and loved ones. The still unfinished portrait extends about three meters. Fantastic!

Painstaking work and amazing color rendering. It is amazing! All shadows and shades are conveyed using a huge number of colors. What's most amazing is that Jo doesn't make separate sketches or examples before working, she just knits and creates everything as she goes.

We have already talked about the proper organization of the workplace. So Joe is a real role model. All colors are grouped. Warm and cool shades are separated and each skein of yarn has its own separate place.

Seeing these photos, most needlewomen probably think: “I want that much yarn!” 🙂

I present to your attention some of my works. There are many more works; they can be seen on the artist’s official website.
