Knitted tight skirts. Winter skirts

The simplest thing that can be crocheted and knitted is a skirt. And no matter how complicated it looks. To make a stylish skirt for any season, it is enough to know the basics of knitting patterns according to the proposed patterns and be able to calculate the number of loops.

Before you start knitting patterns, you need to learn how to read their patterns correctly and master a set of loops and their types: knit and purl.

Typically, the knitting pattern is a square divided into squares. Each cell is one loop, respectively, the number of cells horizontally and vertically is the number of loops and rows for repeat, i.e. for knitting a pattern using knit and purl stitches.

How to calculate stitches for a knitted skirt

  • make a life-size pattern for the product (for example, by tracing each detail of a finished item in your size);
  • knit 1 pattern repeat according to the chosen pattern with the threads you will start knitting the product with;
  • calculate the number of loops in 1 cm;
  • Compare your data with the product diagram or make your own calculations.

Please note that to knit a skirt, the fabric must be made thick enough, otherwise the skirt will be see-through and you will have to sew an additional lining.

How to knit a simple skirt

There is very little left until summer, so we chose a simple one, knitted from thin threads. Knitting requires less yarn than crocheting, so for such a skirt you will need no more than 350 g of cotton yarn.

How to knit a godet skirt with knitting needles

You can also simply crochet a flared skirt. Below we have given you a slightly different pattern, according to which you can knit a circle skirt both with crochet and knitting, in any chosen pattern.

You can add artificial or real pleats, which will give a flared skirt a more naughty and playful look.

How to knit a skirt on circular knitting needles

Using circular knitting needles, you can knit a skirt in the round, then it will not have seams on the sides. These knitting needles are especially good for knitting flared, wide skirts and dresses.

A small but very useful tip:

How to knit a skirt from ribbon yarn with knitting needles

Ribbon yarn is more reminiscent not of yarn or thread, but of braid or, more precisely, regular ribbon. Such threads make very unique products, especially dresses or skirts. It is better to knit regular patterns with ribbon yarn, without any quirks; it itself is very unusual and beautiful. There is a small nuance when knitting with such threads: their ends unravel very easily, so special attention must be paid to securing the tails.

Ribbon yarn varies in thickness from the thinnest, barely noticeable ribbon, to a wide one, from which very beautiful flounces and ruffles are obtained. This yarn is most often used to knit children's skirts and dresses, scarves and items for interior decoration: tablecloths, lampshades.

We chose a simple baby skirt with ruffles, knitted in a solid, wide ribbon yarn. Despite the simple, uncomplicated knitting, a skirt made from such yarn turns out to be very interesting.

For such a skirt you will need one skein of ribbon yarn and the remains of ordinary cotton threads that match the color. It is also better to knit such a skirt on circular knitting needles, otherwise side seams will be very noticeable.

  1. Using ribbon yarn, cast on circular knitting needles 100 loops, close them in a circle.
  2. Without cutting ribbon yarn, knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch.
  3. On the fifth row, add ribbon yarn (doubling each stitch).
  4. Repeat steps 1 and 2, adding loops as necessary, according to the size of the skirt, until you reach the desired length.

How to knit elastic for a skirt

When mastering the art of knitting, you definitely need to learn how to knit an elastic band. After all, it is required not only for skirts and trousers, but also for knitting almost all products - mittens, hats, scarves, cuffs and necklines, lamp shades... You can’t list everything. In addition, knitting with even the simplest English rib is often used even in the manufacture of an independent, full-fledged item and is very popular among both experienced knitters, and novice needlewomen.

Despite all its ease of execution and versatility, it should be noted that such knitting has both pros and cons. The advantages, of course, include its double-sidedness: the product looks equally good from the inside and from the front side. The thing turns out to be elastic, because it’s not for nothing that it’s an “elastic” after all. The downside is that it cannot be ironed and should only be dried flat to avoid stretching; and no matter how hard you try and care for the product, over time it will still lose its shape, so if you knit a scarf and plan to wear it for more than one season, then initially make it shorter than necessary. In addition, you will need at least twice as much yarn for knitting with English rib than for any other pattern.

How to knit a belt for a skirt

We have already told you how to knit a beautiful lace stitch. But with the help of knitting, you can knit a thicker belt, for example for a warm skirt, from thick threads.

You can also knit a thick cord with knitting needles, if suddenly you haven’t succeeded yet. But even if you master it perfectly, then the extra equipment will definitely not hurt you.

Knitted skirts 2017

The latest innovations can open up unlimited possibilities in creating an image for creative fashionistas. Cozy yarn products are presented in a variety of colors, where designers have embodied the most original and unusual ideas. Attention is paid to every aspect of the design - texture, color, choice of yarn. Combined options with leather, cotton, silk, and chiffon are in fashion. Such a wide range allows the fashion trend to remain universal in any season. And the most popular solutions are represented by the following models:

Summer knitted skirts

In the hot season, thin and light yarn becomes relevant. The most popular are products made from cotton and silk. Today, craftsmen rarely use synthetic fibers, and then only in combination with natural threads. In summer, it is important for the body to breathe and for clothing to promote air circulation. And therefore, the current solution would be a mesh model, both with large through fragments and small perforations. Long and short styles, asymmetrical cut, tight-fitting and flowing hemlines. Mesh is the best knitted beach skirt. In this case, an elastic belt will be a convenient finish.

Winter knitted skirts

In the cold season, it will provide comfort and coziness warm yarn. The most relevant are acrylic and wool threads, a composition combined with cotton, mohair and alpaca. This clothing is distinguished by its density, which contributes to both good support of the product’s shape and its practicality. Warm knitted skirts for the winter are often presented in maxi and midi styles. Fringe, pompoms, and lacing can serve as a stylish finish. Thick threads fit perfectly into complex patterns and abstract designs. When choosing a winter model, it is important to consider the softness of the yarn.

Fashionable knitted skirts

When choosing “your” model, it is important to take into account not only design decisions, but also individual characteristics appearance. If you are tall or have a thin build, it is better to go for long and narrow styles. For short girls and fashionistas should emphasize the feminine in their body with the help of a flared cut, a tight fit at the waist, and decoration only along the hemline. However, a stylish knitted skirt can interestingly simulate proportions using colors. And in the new season, the following solutions have become the most fashionable:

Knitted skirt

To add a touch of elegance to your everyday look, mix it up with feminine and stylish cut with a smooth expansion of the hem from the knee. In fashion and short models to the knee, where the cut of the godet looks more laconic. Beautiful maxi designs are often decorated with a slightly elongated train and layered ruffles. This red knitted skirt looks especially attractive. However, girls with pronounced hips are better off abandoning these clothes, opting for romantic trapezoids.

Knitted pleated skirt

An interesting pleated design is also relevant for a thick yarn wardrobe. Basically, pleats complement long and wide hemlines. Both small and large folds are in fashion. The trend in recent collections has been a warm knitted ruffled skirt, where the crease is not smoothed down, but is made with soft waves. Pleats can also be partial, decorating clothes only on the front or sides. Folded melange products look very stylish and unusual. But textured patterns are excluded here, since pleated patterns in combination with braids, arans and other things interrupt one another.

Knitted pencil skirt

A narrow, moderate cut is considered a good choice for. Designers practice all the finishing options that are relevant for a strict style - high waist, peplum, wraparound cut, asymmetrical cuts, etc. A fashionable knitted pencil skirt does not look restrained, but in dark and classic monochrome colors it fully meets the requirements of the business dress code. Models using Irish lace and openwork knitting techniques became a stylish choice during the warm period. This option is often presented complete with a jacket or tunic made of yarn.

Boho knitted skirt

Multi-layered ethnic style is the standard of femininity and sophistication. Knitted fashion welcomes the boho trend, especially in skirt collections. Fashion trends wide and flowing transformable hems have become. Here the craftsmen add side lacing, with which you can gather the clothes. In the summer season, knitted clothing becomes popular openwork skirt. But in this case, a thin petticoat made of cotton or linen is considered mandatory. Often boho models are presented in maxi length. Fashionistas who prefer should look for “their” option in the lines of a different style.

Knitted skirts for plus size

It is very important for plus size girls to pay attention to the structure of the yarn. Knitwear, mohair, and cotton will be successful. When choosing the style itself, it is important to consider where exactly the problem areas are located. The most current models of knitted skirts for girls with full hips are narrow and of moderate length. In this case, you can choose both monochrome dark colors and a stripe pattern. If your figure has wide hips, a long style with a transparent hem from the knee will help balance the proportions. Mini items will add sexiness and correct the lack of a waist.

What to wear with a knitted skirt?

The versatility of yarn models does not solve the issue of complex selection of tops and accessories. In the image with beautiful products It is important to maintain balance. The upper part should remain concise and light. However, by choosing the rest of your wardrobe wisely, any look will acquire romantic and feminine notes:

Knitted miniskirt

Short styles are more relevant in the summer season. The most fashionable is a knitted lace miniskirt. This model is universal for the beach, city looks and going out. A straight and tight cut is best complemented with sandals and flip-flops in the summer, oxfords, creepers and boots in the cold. It is important to combine a wide and curvy silhouette with a tight-fitting top. But the end here can be either a massive platform or a neat heel. Plaid print has become a trend in recent collections. This solution can be made using crocheted or jacquard motifs.

Long knitted skirt

Elegant maxi pieces can be worn with almost any top - both loose and tight. Light blouses and tops are well suited for openwork items. For demi-season thick models, it is better to choose a voluminous sweater, leather jacket, vest. Knitted floor-length skirts go well with chunky shoes on a platform, high wedge, wide heel or flat. During the period of bulky coats and jackets, it is better to stick to a straight cut or a year. In the season of light outerwear You can treat yourself to flowy hemlines.

Regarding the yarn: Amaizing yarn from South West Trading Co. was used to knit this model. I don’t know if it’s possible to buy just such a yarn made from corn fiber somewhere in Russia (I’ve only met Portuguese Rozarios 4, but it’s thicker - 110 m per 50 g), but in general, it can be replaced with polyester or viscose. These fibers are most similar in properties to corn yarn.

A knitted wardrobe has long established itself as practical, comfortable and stylish clothing, and its versatility leaves no doubt. Therefore, from year to year, cozy fashion continues to dictate its rules. Knitted skirts are considered one of the most popular, a varied selection of which helps you always remain attractive and extraordinary.

Knitted skirts 2018

The latest innovations can open up unlimited possibilities in creating an image for creative fashionistas. Cozy yarn products are presented in a variety of colors, where designers have embodied the most original and unusual ideas. Attention is paid to every aspect of the design - texture, color, choice of yarn.

Combined options with leather, cotton, silk, and chiffon are in fashion. Such a wide range allows the fashion trend to remain universal in any season. And the most popular solutions are represented by the following models:

Complex techniques. Light and openwork textures made with complex techniques are considered especially relevant this year. The voluminous lalo braid, Irish lace, intertwined loops and elongated capes continue to be popular.

Knitted jersey skirt. As you know, clothes made from yarn can add extra volume to the figure. And to avoid such embarrassment, designers offer products made from fine factory-made knitwear, both in plain satin and with a voluminous pattern.

Wrap style. Convenient models with a smell attract attention with a universal size. Stylish clothes perfectly adapt to both voluminous hips and thin constitution.

Winter knitted skirts

In the cold season, warm yarn will provide comfort and coziness. The most popular are acrylic and wool threads, combined with cotton, mohair and alpaca.

When choosing “your” model, it is important to take into account not only design decisions, but also individual appearance features. If you are tall or have a thin build, it is better to go for long and narrow styles. Short girls and women of fashion should emphasize their feminine silhouette with a flared cut, a tight fit at the waist, and decoration only along the hemline. However, a stylish knitted skirt can interestingly simulate proportions using colors. And in the new season, the following solutions have become the most fashionable:

Blue-green palette. The rich, but non-garish range has become a hit in recent collections. Designers emphasize the relevance of monochrome solutions without flashy decor.

All shades of red. The feminine palette remains an attractive and stylish choice. Any shade is in fashion - from light coral and peach to rich brick and beetroot.

Knitted jacquard skirts. Don't go out of trend knitted patterns. Abstract ornamental motifs and the ornamental edging itself in the Norwegian and national style are considered a stylish choice. Futuristic flowers and animals have taken a back seat this year.

Knitted melange skirts. If you're avoiding complex colors and looking for a more versatile yet attractive option, pay attention to models with shade transitions in the yarn itself. Both thoughtful ombre designs and abstract knitting without an algorithm are in fashion.

To add a touch of elegance to your everyday look, add a feminine and stylish cut to the hem that flows from the knee. Short knee-length models are also in fashion, where the cut looks more laconic. Beautiful maxi designs are often decorated with a slightly elongated train and layered ruffles. This red knitted skirt looks especially attractive. However, girls with pronounced hips are better off abandoning these clothes, opting for romantic trapezoids.

A narrow, moderate cut is considered a good choice for any body type.

Short styles are more relevant in the summer season. The most fashionable is a knitted lace miniskirt. This model is universal for the beach, city looks and going out. A straight and tight cut is best complemented with flat shoes - sandals and flip-flops in the summer, Oxfords, creepers and boots in the cold. It is important to combine a wide and curvy silhouette with a tight-fitting top. But the end here can be either a massive platform or a neat heel. Plaid print has become a trend in recent collections. This solution can be made using crocheted or jacquard motifs.

Elegant maxi pieces can be worn with almost any top - both loose and tight. Light blouses and tops are well suited for openwork items. For demi-season thick models, it is better to choose a denim shirt, a voluminous sweater, a leather jacket, or a vest. Knitted floor-length skirts go well with chunky shoes with platforms, high wedges, wide heels or flats. During the period of bulky coats and jackets, it is better to stick to a straight cut or a year. During the season of light outerwear, you can treat yourself to flowing hems.

Multi-layered ethnic style is the standard of femininity and sophistication. Knitted fashion welcomes the boho trend, especially in skirt collections. Wide and flowing transformable hemlines have become fashion trends. Here the craftsmen add side lacing, with which you can gather the clothes. In the summer season, a knitted openwork skirt becomes popular. But in this case, a thin petticoat made of cotton or linen is considered mandatory. Often boho models are presented in maxi length. Fashionistas who prefer sexy minis should find “their” option in the lines of a different style.

The versatility of yarn models does not solve the issue of complex selection of tops and accessories. In an image with beautiful products, it is important to maintain balance. The upper part should remain concise and light. However, by choosing the rest of your wardrobe wisely, any look will acquire romantic and feminine notes:

Strict bow. Straight and narrow styles will fit perfectly into business and Office Style. If you are not constrained by the dress code, then replace white shirt and the blouse can be fitted with golf or raglan. Complete the look with classic shoes - ballet flats, pumps, moccasins. Don't forget to add a neat clutch, envelope or mini handbag.

Casual style. Any experiments are welcome here. Monotonous knitted ensembles with oversized sweater or a loose yarn top. Narrow models look stylish with sneakers; the flowy cut can be complemented with a platform or wide heel.

Exit image. White knitted skirts make any look elegant. In this case, openwork and lace products are especially welcome. To maintain style when going out, add a light white top - a blouse, top, or a tight-fitting T-shirt. Massive jewelry and shiny shoes with heels or wedges.

Knitted clothes are always fashionable, stylish, and individual. A modern range of yarn and accessories allows you to create original products to suit your taste, which you will not see on another person. Hand knitting takes into account the features and parameters of the figure, making it possible to choose the desired color and style.

One of these wardrobe items that enjoys constant success among women is a knitted skirt. It can be either summer or winter. Children's models attract attention with their bright colors or a combination thereof, interesting patterns. And it looks especially impressive on women long skirt to the floor, made with openwork patterns. It is recommended to crochet it.

What’s so special about this painting:

  1. it does not wrinkle and retains its appearance for a long time;
  2. stretches moderately and fits well;
  3. depending on the thickness of the thread and the density of the knitting, it can be either thin or warm;
  4. Universally suitable for all women in various situations, if you choose the right style of the product.

Crochet skirt is perfect option summer clothes. Moreover, you can choose a scheme for the beach and relaxation, as well as for an everyday or formal look. Lace patterns can be effectively emphasized with a lining in a harmonizing or contrasting shade. It should be taken into account that the canvas crocheted, 2 times thicker than knitting from a similar thread. Therefore, you should give preference to yarn of small and medium thickness, and also knit a small one before starting work. control sample to evaluate the actual pattern of the product and calculate the number of loops.

You can influence the density of the product by selecting a tool. Yarn labels usually indicate the recommended hook size. If you take a larger number, the fabric will be looser; if you take a smaller number, it will be denser.

The composition of the yarn also matters for a knitted skirt. For summer models, it is better to choose a natural composition, for example, 100% cotton or linen. Mixed options (for example, cotton with viscose or with the addition of silk) will give the product shine and a flowing effect. Wool blend yarn with the addition of acrylic is suitable for knitting thick, warm skirts. However, such a thing may stretch a little under its own weight over time.
