There are also alcohol deodorants, but they also contain plant extracts. We decided to try them all and find out what works best.

Since sweating depends on a huge number of factors, including not only temperature environment and the degree of physical activity, but also the food eaten during the day, the amount of sleep, stress, physical fitness in general, mood, metabolism and much more, then this testing is quite subjective. We can't say for sure how effective a certain deodorant will be for you, because we are all different and we all sweat differently. However, we can easily compare six deodorants with each other and talk about our impressions of using them.

Abellie Deodorant with propolis and aloe (950 RUR) – mineral-vegetable

Abellie is a French organic family brand, all of whose cosmetics are made on the basis of honey and its derivatives: royal jelly (royal jelly), propolis, etc. Abellie deodorant attracted us, first of all, because the brand sells a removable unit for it. An economical and environmentally friendly idea, isn't it?

This natural deodorant is formulated with potassium alum and plant antibacterial extracts. Combining mineral alum and extracts seems to be the most effective natural way to combat unpleasant smell to date. The deodorant has CosmeBio and Ecocert certificates.

How did Abellie perform in business? When the weather is about +20 degrees, it’s absolutely fine. However, if it’s hot outside and you’re covered in soap, then you’ll have to take Abellie with you from home and reapply it twice during the day. This, of course, is not very convenient, and in the heat, to be honest, you want something more effective. However, nothing prevents you from using Abellie on cloudy summer days, especially since it is very soft and gentle on the skin. This “exhibit” is called Active, i.e. designed for physical activity and in this case it is quite worthy of this name.

Of course, it can’t withstand an evening 40-minute run, but it can withstand an ordinary day full of stress, worries, crowds on the subway, running after a minibus and other adventures until the evening without renewing the layer.

The deodorant is made on the basis of potassium alum with the addition of polyquartenium-10 - a synthetic but safe polymer, as well as organically certified extracts of aloe vera, hyssop, hemp and grapefruit. All this together gives a rather specific, but pleasant aroma and a completely natural composition.

As practice has shown, the deodorant roller needs to be periodically washed under water, because... it, like alunite, tends to pick up the smell of sweat.

Weleda citrus deodorant (RUR 306 for 30 ml) – alcohol-based vegetable

This new product has a very convenient spray form. Small size packaging allows you to carry the deodorant with you and renew it throughout the day, which becomes necessary during heavy workload or in the heat. The deodorant does its job quite well, and it itself smells very pleasant of citrus. Contains alcohol, but it cannot be said that the skin of the armpits is irritated or suffered in any way because of this. In some ways, alcohol even helps fight odor.

As for the composition, although the deodorant does not have environmental certificates, it is completely natural: alcohol, water, lemon peel oil, fragrance from essential oils and derivatives of these same oils: geraniol, linalool, limonene, citral and farnesol.

The deodorant cannot be called “strong” or long-lasting – according to this indicator, it is somewhere in the middle. Nevertheless, due to its successful form factor and smell, it leaves a pleasant impression of use.

Born to Bio deodorant Sensation Zen (RUR 390)

This deodorant has an excellent herbal composition: water, fir resin infusion, sage extract, glycerin, natural flavor, xanthan gum, dehydroacetic acid, benzyl alcohol, rosewood oil, lauryl lysine, bamboo extract, palmarosa oil, essential oil cypress, tea tree oil, limonene, linalol, geraniol, cetral, benzyl benzoate, farnesol, geranium oil. All this wealth has Cosmebio and Ecocert certificates.

However, as a deodorant, it unfortunately does not cope with its task. Even just sitting in the office without renewing your layer of deodorant, after 5-6 hours you will begin to smell a little, and here it all depends on the intensity of your natural sweating. We would recommend using Born to Bio either at home, where the odor can be easily eliminated, or if the composition is very attractive to you, and you have the opportunity to renew the layer of deodorant as needed. Unfortunately, we would not recommend going outside or anywhere where you expect to move intensely with this product.

Alunite crystal (about 350 RUR)

Anyone who has ever thought about a natural replacement for traditional deodorants is probably familiar with alunite. And, I must admit, due to its astringent, drying and bactericidal properties, alunite still remains one of the main components for this category of goods.

Alunite is produced a lot different companies and sell them at different prices, and contrary to popular belief, they are not all the same. We talked about alunite in great detail some time ago with expert Marina Kryuchkova, you can read the interview.

Alunite works well. That is, like any natural deodorant, it does not act as long and powerfully as traditional ones, but it performs its function quite well - it prevents the appearance of sweat odor. In addition, you can smear it on small wounds, it disinfects and dries.

“Krasnopolyanskoye” handmade deodorant (200 rub.)

This is the most unusual of all our “exhibits”, because... it doesn't look like a deodorant at all: the product looks more like a butter or some kind of thick heel balm. It comes in a transparent round box with a screw-on lid, and must be applied by hand, having first “scooped” it out of the jar. Agree, this is an extremely unusual format for a deodorant. And, frankly, not very convenient: firstly, your hands get dirty. To apply this deodorant outside the home, you will need to make a lot of unnecessary movements. Secondly, it is simply impossible to apply it evenly - it does not melt, does not smear, but lies down in some kind of lumps.

Nevertheless, the deodorant turned out to be quite pleasant and effective - unfortunately, this jar was the last to reach us, when the heat had already subsided, and we did not have time to test this unusual product in extreme conditions. But on an ordinary cool summer day, when we hardly sweat, unless we specifically run, it is quite enough.

Russian origin and super simple natural composition (baking soda, corn starch, shea butter, cocoa, coconut, beeswax, essential oil of tea tree, geranium and lavender, that's all), as well as a cute non-deodorant jar give this product some kind of provincial charm and zest. By the way, this is not the only oil-based deodorant with antibacterial properties baking soda, which we are already talking about. Convenient or not, it is definitely memorable. On our own behalf, we would like to advise manufacturers to think about more utilitarian packaging.
